hi, my name is stelios, and after a fast flat cat, with one motor,i whas thinking to build a second one with two motors.....a little dificult, but i think it will works.
the set up will be two leopard 2845/4110 kv. two kokkam 3s 2,200mah and two turnigy 120 marine.the drives will be with piano wire 1,5mm,and all the parts, will be machined from me,as the boat ends in angle. some photos of the project, and i hope you like it. please excuse my english,as they are not my mother languange.

first the motor supports on 7075 alum. and some carbon supports.

today i test them together with the drives, but with no bearing ball inside, and they fit very nice....two carbon parts in 1mm thikness in each drive, will make them in hold, and also in moving up-down.
the drives and the suport, is ,in the same shape like the hull is. today the boat is in this situation ,and i must work on this project to finish it.
i hope you like it......

thanks andi!!
i hope that it will run the same good as the one flat cat, that i already have ,with one motor.but i will need also and yours recomendations....for example:
i whas looking for small controlers, like schulze 60 amper, but they are out of business...so the turnigy 120,that i already have,is too big,and heavy....the same the turnigy 60 (is exaclty the same like 120)...
i have already two swordfish 40amper,but i think is too small in amperage, and cannot let me to drive in 4s....so i look for something,to 60-70 amp, that is really small, and can work,on 4s....any recomendation, will make me happy!!!

Beautiful work.

I built a Flatti with 2xScorpion 2221/6 and 2xTurnigy 120 but it was not simple.
I have´t any water-cooling and only 1x3S Lipo for two engines, but the boat runs perfect. Yours must run even better.

Good Morning Stelios!

I recommend the Robbe Roxxy series, 960-6 or 9100-6.
Very good controllers, the 9100 i think you can even use without water cooling.
Compact design and a good BEC.

Pretty good work you've done!

Best regards
Werner

alex123 thanks alot. i am veeery interest to see yours project.....i whas thinking that im the only one with twin flati.....please send me photos!! or video!!:jaw:

mr roundnose i think you are in my mind!! yesterday i whas looking for this two controllers...and if i remember correct,is a flati,(yours i think) that use this type...
i will go to get this two in 60 amper version,as i will use water cooling for controllers only.
thanks for the help!!! stelios.

Your boat is much nicer, but I fear that the drives on your Flatti are somewhat too heavy for the boat.
Here are some pictures of mine.

whow!!!!!!! alex,is the first time for me to see this project......very good!!and very nice collets,on the motors!!
for the weight, you are right, that i must be carefull...but with the things inside(all) and the twin mini servo that im thinking to put,the twin flati,is 50gramms lighter, than the 1-motor flati that i already have(1320gramms with nanno 4s 4,500mah and leo 2860).....i will keep you updated for the weight!!!
thanks so much for the photos!!

Alex123
4.September.2013, 21:23
I think, the problem is not the weight all in all, but you have a lot of weight in the back. (Drives and Lipos)
Maybe too much, but nobody knows it. Just try it.:)

Great work Stelios! You encourage me to go on with my own micro cat twin project.

Another option for small powerful ESC is Turnigy Plush 80 with custom watercooling. (pictures below)

If you`re not on budget ... robbe roxxys are the first choice!

thanks so much,for helping me.......
i whas very unhappy last week, because i lost my one motor flatti!!!
it whas a modeler happening in a nice island ,and from a mistake in the fail safe, the boat goes underwater and become lost(100% throtle)......i remember all my special and dificult machining, and that gets me very unhappy,as i wake up and sleep ,with the memories of the nice flatti........i will come with news in the twinn soon,as some things on the drives, come in end from machining.....thank you all!! stelios.

Hi....some delay on the project, but finally the drives going to be complete.
i take four spherical (polymer) joints from igus.de and i open carefully the hole from 3mm to 5 mm(the drives are 5mm on the back). those come in stiff tolerance, and get water tight for sure.

Because no body here in greece that have a cnc router, like to work with carbon....i find a solution that is very good in tolerances...i worh a lot with laser cut in my own business, and i find pretty good,to make my drawings for my projects, then to cut them in d.c.p soft metal....and then screwed on the carbon plate, and then "dremel it"
works great!!!!

i like to use two mini servo in this project, just for the use of two rods instead of one...if i use one servo, even mini, there is no way to put two rods...so i think of this sliding part(is two parts) one for the servos, male, and one glued on the boat female...the servos will go far away back, and only one small screw(m2) will stop the sliding, but from a vissible area, with easy acess...is also a carbon part not ready, yet to hold the other side, and push the male on the female part...

i have make them from 6,2mm diameter solid inox.
the final bigger diameter is in the boushings (5mm)
the diameter in the prop area is 3,17mm (1/8) as i use octura props
the drilling for piano wire 1,5mm
so why i get a bigger shaft...because first i make the piano dril, together with centre drill...and then from the oposit, where m3 nut work...
so i work all the shaft, from the centers,as i like to work in high speeds with no vibrations....but the machining must go with small cutting dephts.

Hello Stelios,

Imageshack is one of the biggest malware distributors. When I click on a pic there, I get 6 alarms of system attacks. This is why we consider to ban all pics from them in future.

...i want to ask,here,the forum,if i can upload from facebook??? thanks,stelios.

Download the pics to your computer and upload them from there to the forum.
Use this button http://www.rc-raceboats.de/forum/images/editor/insertimage.png in the editor and follow the instruction.
